Just three short(?) years ago, the land on which YouthCare Ministries now stands was bare. You’d never believe that now! Executive Director Gomezgani Chirwa and his team, with a little help from their friends, have, incredibly, built a high school, a health clinic, and two dorms – one for boys and the other for girls. It’s still quite a work in progress, with electricity yet to be extended to all areas of the school, and to the clinic, but a little obstacle like lack of power has not stopped Gomez and his team. They are already impacting their community by improving educational opportunities and access to at least basic health services, including counseling on AIDS/HIV prevention – a critical issue in this little country which continues to suffer infection rates much higher than many other areas of the world.
